Are you a finance professional looking to use your skills to make a meaningful difference?

The Association for Culturally Appropriate Services (AFCAS) is seeking a Volunteer Treasurer to join its Board and help guide the financial governance and sustainability of a respected organisation advocating for culturally appropriate aged care and community services.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, AFCAS works with government, service providers and communities to improve outcomes for culturally and linguistically diverse Australians. Learn more at the AFCAS website.

About the Role

As Treasurer, you will provide financial oversight and strategic advice to the Board, supporting sound governance, accountability and long-term sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversea and monitor AFCAS's financial performance and position
  • Presenting financial reports and advice to the Board
  • Contribute and provide budgeting, financial planning and reporting as required at a project or organisational level.
  • Ensuring compliance with ACNC, ASIC and other financial obligations
  • Contributing as an active Board Director

The role involves participation in regular Board Committee meetings, along with occasional support between meetings.

What We're Looking For

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with:

  • Financial management, accounting or finance leadership experience
  • Ability to interpret and explain financial reports
  • Knowledge of governance, budgeting and financial controls
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector (desirable)
  • A commitment to equity, inclusion and improving outcomes for multicultural communities

Previous board experience is welcomed but not essential.
